Okay, I admit it: If it casts light, I gotta have it. I want the smallest, largest, toughest, brightest, and most durable flashlights money can buy.

I may like guns but I am a flashlight junkie.

Small, tactical flashlights have their place: in my pocket. And they’re handy and useful when I want a small, portable light. But sometimes I want to light up more than just a part of something. Sometimes I want to light up a back yard. The entire back yard. That’s when I go for a light such as the Revo Cyclops 1100, a portable, rechargeable flashlight you aim and operate like a hand gun.

Squeeze the trigger and the Cyclops pours out 1100 lumens from two high-power Luxeon LEDs. To say it is outrageously bright would be an outrageous understatement. But it’s also portable and versatile. In fact, this is the light you keep in your vehicle (12V charger included) or by your bedside (AC/DC charger included, too) or wherever else you want the ability to see virtually everything bathed in bright, white light with the click of one switch.

Cyclops can withstand the impact of a one-meter drop and is water resistant. The rubberized grip makes it easy to hold on to when the weather isn’t cooperating and the trigger pulse switch is big enough for easy use with a gloved finger. A lock switch allows for a constant-on beam and you’ll get about 68 minutes of burn time between charges. Power comes from a 6V 2.5Ah SLA battery (included). The body of the Cyclops not only has a vented housing to eliminate the heat generated by the lights, but it also has an integrated power meter to let you know when the battery is running low. Very cool.

At 1100 lumens, Cyclops can cast a beam 420 meters. It also comes with a detachable red lens for tactical or other operations.

Retailing for $139.99, the Revo Cyclops 1100 won’t fit in your pocket and might even be too big for carrying around anyway. But it’s best feature — flashlight junkies, take note — is squeezing the trigger and lighting up … everything.
