Whether you call them mini-vaults or micro-safes, most small, 1- or 2-handgun lockboxes have been serious compromises between fast access and security, and early biometric (fingerprint-reading) models have been prone to false readings. The box itself is heavily coated 9-gauge steel, measuring 4.57×10.24×13.98″ and weighs 22 pounds empty. There are no exposed hinges. Four pre-drilled pilot holes will accept bolts up to 10mm to secure it to a shelf or inside a stout drawer. The padded interior will accommodate handguns up to 12″ in length. The fingerprint reader, powered by an included 9-volt battery, will hold 10 different approved fingerprints in non-volatile memory. Just hit the “function” button, swipe your finger on the adjacent reader, and the spring-loaded top flips open in less than 1 second. The DigiSWIPE comes with two mechanical backup keys.
