Wiley X
I’ve been wearing ballistic protective glasses with light-adjusting lenses for a couple of years now, and most of the time that works out fine. But there are times I want more light transmission — clear lenses with glare-blocking properties and during early light and twilight conditions, I want the detail-sharpening and enhanced perception of “target” lenses. Change-outs have to be quick, easy and secure and the frames should not restrict peripheral vision, either at the sides or looking down, especially at close range. The new Valor 3-lens setup from Wiley X fills those needs completely, at a very reasonable price.
Included are smoke grey lenses with max glare reduction, true color rendition and 15 percent light transmission, 11 percent polarized, great for bright, glaring conditions; clear anti-glare lenses with 89 percent transmission for low-light or hazy conditions; and light rust lenses which make details pop through dawn and twilight hours. The frames are comfortable, durable and fit S/M/L-sized heads. Valor comes in a zippered case with leash and cleaning cloth. MSRP: $95. For more info: (800) 776-7842, www.americancop.com/wiley-x
