Ergopad Belt

Over a year ago, Nat Stevens of Tuff Products sent me an ErgoPad belt to evaluate. Nat was enthusiastic about the new belt and wanted me to try it. I was skeptical because the sample belt I received was a hook and loop style and was quite a departure from the plain garrison belt I’d been wearing for a number of years. Curiosity got the best of me and I decided to give it a try, thinking a little padding couldn’t hurt. Well that was over a year ago, and now I wouldn’t consider putting on my duty belt without it.

The foam pads, or pillows, in the ErgoPad belt are spaced one inch apart from center to center, are .5″ wide and protrude about 3/16″ from the flat of the belt — they offer noticeable cushioning. The padded foam strip is glued and sewn to mil-spec nylon webbing to form the inside lining of the belt. The exterior comes in either plain nylon webbing, or an all “hook” or an all “loop” strip is sewn in place to form the attachment system for those types of duty belts. Edge tape is used to protect the edges of the nylon, foam and hook or loop; and to create a professional look.

The belt is 1.75″ wide and there are several variations to choose from. The nylon webbing version comes in black, olive drab, foliage green or coyote brown to compliment a wide range of tactical/training uniform selections. There’s also a faux leather version, available in plain or basket weave. The belts are handmade here in the US and represent an incredible value at $25.
